An Exclusive Look Into a Brand New Alcohol-Free Drink For Summer

There are now hundreds of alcohol-free spirits and drinks available in the market. Just as not everyone likes gin in the alcoholic world, or tequila, the growing portfolio of drinks is a crucial step for consumer choice and to appeal to everyones, incredibly different, tastes. 

As we start to move into Spring and Summer time, our tastes change again. Sipping in the sunshine is a completely different drinking experience to sipping cosy in your living room. 

It’s no secret, we love a Spritz, however when we discovered ANON had created the first ever PIMMS, we were rushing to the supermarket to buy strawberries and were frantically plucking mint from our cocktail plant pot!

When working in the Club Soda Alcohol-Free Off-License in Great Portland Street, ANON’s Spritz was the name we kept hearing. The ooo’s and ahh’s would come from customers as they tried ANON, so we were excited to check out the brand new ‘English Garden’.

We filled our glass with ice, poured over 50ml ANON English Garden and topped with Luscombe’s Lemonade, garnished with cucumber, strawberries and mint. It was a British drink made of dreams.

PIMMS is a Summer staple at some of the more British events such as Wimbledon, the Chelsea Flower Show, polo matches, the races, the Henley Regatta and garden parties. 

Where did it all start?

Mr Pimm actually. In the 1840s, he invented and marketed the first ever PIMMS which was actually created as a health tonic. He was trying to aid the healthy lifestyle of people as they started to drink more tonic for health reasons and understood the importance of taking a dip int he sea to cure ailments. The tonic was a gin based drink that contained a mix of herbs and other liquids to aid digestion. 

We love that Mr Pimm was creating this drink for the health conscious back in 1840. With our greater knowledge of health and wellness, ANON have now taken the concept and removed the alcohol for a healthier drink in today’s world.
