Tropical super fruits blended into an alcohol-free cocktail of dreams

It used to be five portions of fruit and vegetables a day said the ‘doctor’ and now its increased to seven. In addition, super fruits have further benefits such as managing weight loss, fighting life threatening diseases such as cancer and heart disease, lowering bad cholesterol and helping to slow Alzheimer’s.

Along with loving on the go snacks that are good for our body and mind and loving bright and beautiful things just as much, Soul Fruit gave us a huge pop of colour (and taste) in February’s JOMO Box.

Soul Fruit have gently dried their tropical super fruits to create a texture representing your favourite snacks - think a sweet chew or a crisp crunch.

On top of that, they are 100% fruit and nothing but. Using the best quality fruit and modern drying methods to bring exotic flavours in the most delicious, sustainable and nutrient dense bites.

Founders Nat and Dan shared a love for adventure and the exotic tastes they discovered along the way. Whilst living in Asia they wondered with so many varieties of fruit, why there was such a small selection of dried fruit snacks and why the ones that did exist had added sugar or preservatives.

They both learnt that the best quality fruits, dried in the right way didn’t need anything added at all. They were perfectly sweet and delicious the way they were. By removing the water, they were able to condense the rich and fruit flavours, whilst locking in the nutrients.

As Soul Fruit bring their fruit snacks to the world (including dragonfruit, mango and strawberries), they are also helping consumers to snack smarter, cleaner and more sustainably. Committed to positive social and environmental change, Soul Fruit give 1% of every sale to ‘For the Planet’. They are also looking to lower their environmental in the pursuit of net 0, however offset all of the carbon produced since Day 1.

So, now we know that good stuff, let’s delve into some of fruity details. Dragon fruit is actually named after a Mythical Beast with its pink skin and pointy green leaves which resemble scales (every day is a school day). It is officially the only fruit in the world to grow from the flowers of a cactus.

Jackfruit is the largest tree-borne fruit in the world with each fruit weighing up to 35kg. A mature jackfruit can product up to 200 in a year!

Keo Mango are long and slender with a green skin. The flesh is firm, crisp and juicy with a fresh sweet taste and tangy twist.

Although the snacks are super delicious out the bag, there is a very exciting use for these dragonfruit gems that do involve cocktails. Here is how to make it:
Blend Soul Fruit Dragonfruits so they create a powder
Put into a glass and top with sparkling water and ice. Gently stir. Voila.

It is vibrant, refreshing and definitely a party pleaser. You could probably try it too with tonic and a dash of alcohol free spirit.

Buy your own supply of Soul Fruit on their website and follow their journey @soulfruituk. It’ll be love at first bite.
