What was in the July JOMO Box?

End of June / July truly is a beautiful time of the year in the UK. As I write this, I feel wholeheartedly, 100% content. I worked out this morning, I sat in the garden working, I went for an outdoor swim in the sun at lunch and now I sit this afternoon working on my outdoor beanbag. 

There is no doubt getting fresh air and sunshine along with getting your heart pumping is good for the soul - it certainly is good for my soul anyway. 

This month we also had the absolute pleasure of having our first beach shoot on Overstrand, Norfolk beach. We made cocktails on the beach and we hope these photos captured these moments - we think they do perfectly.

Luscombe were a huge hit with members a few months ago showcasing their Grapefruit Tonic. Bringing flavours of the sea this month, Luscombe based in Devon, have been creating drinks since the 12th century and we knew there was no better match than their Cucumber Tonic. Pairing soft Dartmoor spring water with cucumber and Indian quinine the result is balanced.

Made from Russet apples and Jonagold apples grown in orchards in Sussex, Kent and the Three Counties, this apple juice is 100% fruit with the perfect bite for an alcohol free cocktail.

Shrub drinks are back in fashion. Once used as a way to preserve fruit or create a strong alcohol free drink during Prohibition, shrubs are now being used once again to balance out non-alcoholic cocktails and create varying layers of depth. 

Made of fruit and vinegar, shrubs bring both sweet and sharp tones.

The sage and orange garnish brings out the sage and orange flavours in the New London Light 0% spirit becoming the perfect match.

Cocktail of the Month 

I ain’t got no shrub

50ml New London Light, 10ml shrub and 30ml apple juice. Shaken over ice in a coupe garnished with sage.

Mocktails Sansgria 

Recently launching their canned range, Mocktails are the perfect on-the-go drinks for your picnic basket, beach cooler or for the train. Serve chilled out the can or over ice in a wine glass with your favourite chopped fruit.
