I’ve been sat here, staring into the beautiful countryside this morning, wondering how to give this drink an introduction that will do it justice.  GIMBER, it certainly isn’t shy.

To set the scene, I had passed GIMBER many times in gorgeous farm shops around the UK, surrounded by unique drinks and snacks on the shelves. GIMBER always stood out. If you’ve seen one in the flesh you will know exactly what I am talking about and may even be able to get a feeling from a photo. Just look to the left to know what I am talking about.

The pale orange liquid that sits inside a glass bottle contained by a silver lid and a white eco looking label with black writing “GIMBER - the alcohol free drink with a bite”.

A few months passed and I finally had the opportunity to try GIMBER for myself.

My serving choice was 50ml over ice topped up with sparkling water. As I explain the moment, I am reliving the experience. As do I most days when I pour myself a GIMBER and sparkling in my favourite glass after a days work - it never tires.

It is fiery, bold, simplistically powerful, full of nature’s finest ingredients and a drink so versatile it can be used in not only your drinks and cocktails, but also in your cooking.

Around a similar time I had discovered GIMBER, I had made the decision to give up coffee for a while. As an avid coffee drinker, I started mixing up a GIMBER and sparkling water for my mid-morning drink to replace my coffee fix. Caffeine-free, but it still gave me a fiery feeling and a drink that I felt I could rely on in the morning.

So, how did GIMBER actually originate?

Dimitri, the brains behind the bottle worked as an animation series producer with a packed schedule and frequently dreaded attending events where they served yet another bad wine or sugary soft drink.

Frustrated, Dimitri started searching for a drink that could spice things up and after not being able to find one, he decided to make his own. He tried all sorts of combinations until November 2017 he found the perfect mix, ‘I felt like Willy Wonka, only without the crazy kids’.

GIMBER became a local success after friends forced Dimitri to make them bottles and his wife served it in her local store to clients. Some people drove 50KM to buy a bottle.

So, as well as tasting absolutely delicious, ginger has quite a number of health benefits too. We spoke with the GIMBER team to find out how drinking ginger or drinking GIMBER could positively impact us. ‘Ginger, or rather its main bioactive compound gingerol, has many proven health benefits and is an antioxidant. Some of the health benefits include anti-bacterial properties, relieving nausea (from pregnancy or sea sickness for example) and anti-inflammatory properties to ease muscle soreness or arthritis pain. Ginger is proven to aid digestion and there are even some studies that suggest that this wonderful ingredient can slow the growth of cancer, fight off disease and even help to protect your DNA. All of this with the added benefit of tasting fantastic!’

There are a million ways to use GIMBER and you can explore these along with buying a bottle for yourself on uk.gimber.com - three different ways we like to use it to get you going
