What was in the Sober October Box?
As we start to see the leaves turning colour, pumpkins making their first appearance and our favourite spiced drinks come back in season, we wanted to reflect these beautiful seasonal changes in October’s Box. We’re talking a lot of orange. Not only is aesthetically pleasing (we think so anyway) but we are welcoming in Sober October and to celebrate we have a special JOMO Club Sober October Box which is our biggest box to date worth over £75!
JOMO Club’s Sober October 2021 Box brought a lot of variety and plenty to try with not one but two full sized bottles of alcohol-free spirit and three additional non-alcoholic cans of drink. Spirit one is reinventing the spritz and paired with this months’ tonic is a match made in heaven. Spirit two is pure fire and the most versatile drink we have come across. There certainly is a lot to get stuck into this month and we hope you enjoy every second with us.

Wilfred’s: Reinventing the Spritz
The Sober October Box brought a bottle of Wilfred’s Aperitif. Bittersweet orange and rosemary with a hint of rhubarb, Wilfred’s is a British take on an aperitif inspired by the freshly picked rosemary from Founder Chris’ mother’s garden and the bitter oranges in his father’s homemade marmalade.
GIMBER
To celebrate Sober October, October’s Box had two spirits which was no less than the extra fiery, super versatile GIMBER.
To pair with sparkling water for a perfect serve, combined in a cocktail or added to stir fries and cheesecakes, it really does have a place in your daily life - plus drinking ginger has a bunch of health benefits which is a bonus as it really does taste delicious.
Artisan Drinks
Bubbly Soda and Pink Citrus Tonic
Artisan Drinks are shaking up the way mixers are being done. With an array of unique flavours all designed to bring out the spirit in the best way, this months’ mixers are an outstanding try.
Pink Citrus Tonic is a clean citrus blend of pink grapefruit, blood orange and lemon with a hint of basil.
The Bubbly Soda is simplicity itself, pure water, a pinch of bicarbonate of soda then effervescence.
Sober October Perfect Serve
50ml Wilfred’s over ice, topped up with Pink Citrus Tonic and served with orange garnish. Pure heaven.

Orange and Lime Garnish
They put so much love into each piece of fruit and my, does it make a drink look good.
Organic, sustainably packed, this month the perfect serve was garnished with dried orange and the cocktail of the month was garnished with dried lime.
Sea Arch
Sea & T and Sea & T Rosé Cans
Made on the Devon coast, Sea Arch is made from eleven carefully selected, all-natural botanicals including samphire and sea kelp. Juniper berry and notes of sage add real depth of flavour. Coriander and grapefruit peel result in a clean, crisp feel on the palate with some peppery notes. Sweet blood orange adds complexity and, together with lemon undertones, drives the perception of juiciness. Cardamom spice gives a balanced warm finish.
Punchy Drinks
Golden Hour: Blood Orange, Bitters & Cardamom
Another bonus drink? We said this month was a celebration. Punchy Drinks are ready to go and perfect on their own or also delicious mixed with your favourite spirits too - especially this months’ Wilfred’s. It’s almost as if we planned it.
Cocktail of the month
JOMO Mule
The perfect balance between sweet and fiery, this take on a mule is served with lots of ice mixed with Wilfred’s, GIMBER and topped with soda. Topped off we have a lime garnish.
Once members are finished, they can plant their ingredient card in a pot and watch it grow into a flower.
OLOVES
Lemon and Rosemary
A perfect match for an Aperitif. Under 50 calories a bag, high in vitamin E and other powerful antioxidants, these olives not only taste delicious but are also pretty good for you too.

Salt and Vinegar Crisps
We like to pour them in a bowl and enjoy them with our perfect serve drink, you might like to eat them straight out the bag. Whatever way is your way, it doesn’t change the facts - these guys are full of crunch and flavour while being kind to the planet too.

Not only gluten free and vegan, these bars are free from the top 12 allergens with a dedication to bringing maximum flavour to free from products. Winning awards for a number of their products, Creative Nature are allowing everyone to get involved and this months, our members were too!
October’s plantable ingredient card and 20 page members magazine explained how best to use the products in the box including pairing them together as perfect serves, the cocktail of the month or adding external ingredients for more complex cocktails to continue using the spirits and to get the most out of the box. The magazine had a number of articles including how alcohol affects sleep and interviews with people first hand in alcohol-free to see what we can expect to see changing and more.
